When I was a child, I always remember the slapstick humour of Laurel and Hardy.
I’ve found video footage here of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy in 1956 at Stan’s house when was visiting. Stan had suffered a stroke and Oliver had lost a lot of weight.
Oliver sadly died a year after this film was recorded. Stan lived on for another 9 years. It’s a sad reminder of how cruel old age and illness can be.
If you wish to remember them as the youthfull duo in Black & White as pictured above, I recommend you don’t watch the video.
