Have you managed to catch Sky‘s new TV ad for Sky+yet? It’s great. It features a monster family called “The Spenglers” who are shopping in a supermarket and trying to fit in with human life.

“Dad” Spengler is voiced by John Goodman. I’ve yet to identify the other actors & actresses, although an actress called Lulu Miller tweeted on her @actorlulumiller twitter account on 15th September:

“Enjoyed filming the Spenglers advert for Sky Plus on Monday. A long shoot, but made better with all the lovely crew and cast xx”

The “official story” behind the family is:

We’re the Spengler family, just arrived in London all the way from Monstropolis. My beautifully furry wife is Marie and our two kids are Nic and Kris. I’m Brian, I’d wear the trousers in the household if I could find a pair large enough.

Nic loves playing Xbox and thinks Transformers 2 is the best film of all time.

Marie is a former beauty queen who enjoys gardening, book clubs and socialising.

Kris is a typical teenager: she enjoys live music, skate parks, Twilight and sleeping over at her friends’ houses.

I’m a college faceball hero turned architect. Enjoy history and bar sports.
