The Highways Agency are tonight advising drivers using the M56 that as a result of delays associated with sliding the new 1800 tonne Bowdon View Bridge into place, the westbound Junction 7 exit slip will not be re-opened to traffic at 5am as originally anticipated.

However, the M56 motorway will re-open to traffic as planned at 5am on Monday 1st November.

Traffic for the A556 / M6 southbound should continue to follow the signed diversion route. It is still not clear when the bridge and Junction 7 will become open to traffic.

The original Bowden bridge was demolished on October 17th and the work has already overrun by an extra weekend.

The people from Improv Everywhere are up to thier old tricks again – this time “The MP3 Experiment Seven”.

They got over 3,000 participants downloaded an MP3 file and pressed play simultaneously at 6pm in retail stores in Midtown Manhattan, New York.

The masses converged on Bryant Park where a series of fun activities unfolded, culminating in a huge “mummy dance party.”
