Shopping wishlists launched!

Do you have a birthday or wedding anniversary coming up? Christmas is approaching fast too! The problem of telling people what you want is common. Some online stores have a wishlist system for that particular store, but imagine if you could have a single wishlist which covers over 700 of the UK’s best retailers?

Now you can. Introducing the fidgetwith.com shopping wishlist service!

Here’s how it works:

1) Visit http://shopping.fidgetwith.com/ or click “Go Shopping!” at the top of any page.

2) Browse for products you like and want to add to a wishlist. To add the item, click on the “add to wishlist” button on the product page

3) Carry on choosing more items. As you add more, the indicator will show you how many items you have in your wishlist.

4) You can view the content of your wishlist by clicking on “View wishlist”. This will show you a list of items. You can delete some of them from here if you need to.

5) Once you have finished, you can click on the “Click here to save your wishlist” link. This will save your wishlist. All you need to do is enter your name, email address and an optional personal message. Once done, you will be given a unique wishlist URL. You can then share this link with your friends, family or work colleagues!

Here is an example wishlist to show you what they look like:

6) The person looking at your wishlist will then know the items you what and where they can get them from. They can also optionally click the “buy” links to buy them online there and then!

It’s as simple as that! You now have the power to browse over 4 million products from more than 700 stores and add them to the same online wishlist. I have a few more enhancements coming soon for it, please let me know if there is a feature you would like adding!

Moonbase Alpha: Free Lunar simulator from NASA

NASA has once again landed on the lunar surface with the goal of colonization, research, and further exploration. Shortly after the return to the Moon, NASA has established a small outpost on the south pole of the moon called Moonbase Alpha.

Moonbase Alpha is a NASA-funded multiplayer game scenario with 20 minutes of play set on a hypothetical lunar outpost in 3-D immersive setting.

This is a proof of concept to show NASA content – lunar architecture in this case – and a cutting edge game engine could be combined to produce a fun game and inspire interest in STEM education.

NASA released the game on Valve’s Steam network, and will use the Steamworks suite of services for server browsing, leaderboards, statistics and more. Steam has more than 25 million accounts and has released more than 1,100 games.

This short but challenging game is available to download free of charge to via your free Steam account and you can play single player or with your friends online. Here is the official trailer:
